Housing Options is an independent advice and information service for people with learning disabilities. The aim is to assist people with learning disabilities achieve greater control over aspects of their life and to provide more housing and support choices - more options for individuals, parents, social services, care agencies. It does this by providing practical help, advice and information.
The site is divided into two separate parts -
(i) General Information - This site is a comprehensive source of information
about housing and related isssues for people with learning disabilities. There
is a range of factsheets and quick briefs that provide families and professionals
with technical information about housing.
(ii) Easy Read - Designed specifically for people with learning disabilities.
The Easy Read pages give an overview and introduce some of the basics about
housing for people with learning disabilities. This part of the site has a
voice-over and as well as audio files also incorporates video.
Both parts of the Housing Options site conform to Level AAA of the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0.
